To liaise with staff and students in designated Faculties and Schools to ensure that the Library is responsive to the teaching, learning, and research needs of the Deakin University community.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
•    As part of a cross-Campus team, initiate and maintain strategic liaison with academic staff and students in designated Faculties and Schools to ensure Library responsiveness to client needs.
•    Develop print and online collections in collaboration with academic staff and the liaison team to enhance the teaching, learning, and research objectives of designated Faculties and Schools.
•    As part of a cross-Campus team to design, deliver and evaluate information literacy programs to meet learners’ needs in a flexible learning environment.
•    Provide information assistance to the Deakin University community that reflects a customer service ethos, to maximise the use of Library resources, services and facilities.
•    To ensure the implementation of all University policies that relate to the areas for which the position is responsible, in particular, those relating to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk management, staff development and staff performance planning and review.

Salary: $69,608 - $75,350 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 9% superannuation.
The focus of this position is to consolidate internal processes for the registration of quality information about research dataset collections at the University. Part of the role will include the delivery of outreach and education programs across the University promoting the identification and registration of significant research data collections. This position is supported by the University of Melbourne Seeding the Commons Project funded by the Australian National Data Service (ANDS). ANDS is supported by the Australian Government through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy Program and the Education Investment Fund (EIF) Super Science Initiative.

Serials & Inter-Library-Loans Officer - The One Umbrella

•    CBD location
•    3 days per week
Conveniently located in the CBD, in this 3 day per week temporary role, you will be responsible for serials management & inter-library loans, ensuring that current standards are maintained.
You will have experience as a Library Technician or Assistant working in serials management & inter-library loans. Your tasks will include the following –

Print Serials –
Monitor all incoming print serials, series and annual reports.
Open up all library mail and sort
Stamp all serials, series and annual reports
Check in received serials, annual reports and series into the SirsiDynix Serials module
Barcode and label all checked in publications.
Claim and monitor missing serial issues. Send emails or letters to publishers, organisations or Ebsco for missing issues
Check out all completed publications to INPROCESS
Update serial display by returning previous weeks serials via Circulation module
Check out all new serials for display to DISPLAY via Circulation module
Shelve serials that are on the shelving trolley
Monitor serials received via reciprocal arrangement, pubgratis or gratis

Online Serials –
Claim missing issues and update the SirsiDynix serials module
Update online journal records via A-Z management system.  This can cover online access, changes of urls, publisher changes and online access periods covered etc.
Table of contents/alerting services –
Provide desktop current awareness to research staff with tailored services via email alerts of new publications and newsletters, etc.
Where identified, scan print serials received in the library and email to research staff
Document delivery –
Provide Interlibrary loan requests for research staff.
