Library Officer (Accessions)
- Balwyn Library
- Part time (21hrs p/week - Mon, Tue, Wed)
- Band 3 pro rata $28,299 - $31,173 (inc. super)
You are V.C.E qualified with current library experience, preferably in a public library with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, competent IT skills and a current driver's license.
Library Officer (Acquisitions & Copy Cataloguing)
- Hawthorn Library
- Part time (21 hrs p/week - Wed, Thur, Fri)
- Band 4 pro rata $31,548 - $33,889 (inc. super)
You are tertiary qualified conferring eligibility for Technician Membership of the ALIA or undertaking postgraduate librarianship qualification (Librarian in training). You have current library experience, preferably public, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong IT skills and a current driver's license.

Do you enjoy working as part of a library team, providing timely & responsive library services?
Starting at the beginning of the 2011 school year, in this Cataloguing role at a prestigious private school in the north-western suburbs, you will be able to catalogue all resources including books, audio visual items, music & computer equipment purchased by the school. You will also maintain the automated Library catalogue & provide advice on procedures, protocols plus new developments in cataloguing practice. 
Your duties will include:
•    Working staff and students, providing a high quality, welcoming, responsive and proactive Library service
•    Original cataloguing of books, audio visual items, music, computer equipment and other items purchased by the school, using the Spydus library management system.
•    Use of the SCIS database for searching and downloading records.
•    Assisting with the daily operation of the library, answering reference queries, circulating materials and shelving as required.
•    Maintaining library records and systems as directed
•    Working cooperatively with other library staff to provide materials and services across the school.
To succeed in this role you will have:
•    Proven ability and experience in original cataloguing, using the Spydus library management system
•    Proven ability to search the SCIS database, download records and use and maintain subject headings and files.
•    A commitment to excellence in library and client services
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
•    Technical and computer competency
•    Experience operating and maintaining an automated library system
•    Tertiary library qualifications
•    Experience in a school library would be an advantage
