Applications are invited for a qualified and experienced librarian to
work in the Victorian Parliamentary Library on a 0.8 contact basis until
31 Dec 2011.
The Library’s Technical Services unit acquires, catalogues and
maintains collections of parliamentary and government publications,
books and journals in both print and electronic formats for the use of
MPs, electorate and parliamentary staff. The Serials Librarian manages
the Library’s serials collections to ensure that full sets of journals
and annual reports are available to clients, and assists the Technical
Services Librarian with the administration of the Library’s
collections budget.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Librarianship degree, or degree plus postgraduate library
qualification, or progress towards this qualification
2. Experience managing electronic serial publications
3. Familiarity with Libraries Australia
4. Well developed computer skills, including Internet expertise
Other relevant skills:
1. Sound knowledge of government agencies in Victoria
2. Demonstrated organizational skills
Salary: Grade 3.1 $53,502 - $59,233 plus superannuation
Term of appointment: 0.8, contract position until 31 Dec 2011.
