Library Technician

This is a Part Time position, working 32 hours per week (as negotiated) for one year, with the possibility of continuation.

The Royal Melbourne Hospital Health Sciences Library operates from the City Campus Grattan St location, and provides library services to Royal Melbourne and Royal Park sites, North Western Mental Health agencies, North West Dialysis, and the Royal Women's Hospital.

The Health Sciences Library is seeking a creative, organised and self-motivated person to join the library team. The successful applicant will work collaboratively in a small team based environment and be committed to ensuring a well resourced and responsive service to a leading health organisation. The successful applicant will also be an integral part of the customer service team, and will be regularly rostered at the Service Desk.

To be appointed to this position you must hold an ALIA recognised Library Technician qualification, or be enrolled in a suitable course with an undertaking to complete. Experience in marketing and promotion would be an advantage. You must have frontline customer service experience. Communication and teamwork skills are essential, as are computer skills.
Applicants who are not qualified to Diploma level will be appointed as Library Technician in Training.
